A native of South Central Los Angeles and alumni of Locke High School and Santa Clara University, growing up Londale Theus was widely known for his talents on the basketball court as opposed to the silver screen. An elite player in high school and college, his ultimate goal of playing professional basketball took a dramatic turn his senior year during the weekend of the NBA draft. He learned of his selection by the San Diego (currently Los Angeles) Clippers from the solitude of his hospital bed while recovering from a torn ACL suffered during a pickup game earlier that week…
Despite surgery and a grueling year of rehabilitation and training, this injury proved to be career ending. It was then that Londale embarked on a new path in law enforcement which spanned over twenty years and included exciting assignments such as the Crime Impact Team and S.W.A.T. for the Santa Monica Police Department. After leaving active duty, Londale combined his law enforcement experience and extensive knowledge and love of martial arts by serving as the Director of Force Training for Krav Maga, an Israeli Self Defense system, in which he holds a black belt. For the next five years, Londale traveled throughout the United States and abroad teaching law enforcement and military personnel this cutting edge, life-saving system. Londale is now enjoying a full-time career as an actor, and is known as “The Cop That Can Act” bringing truth to his characters by channeling his real-life experiences. He and his wife Martha have been married since 1985 and have two children; Kamaal and Londale Theus, Jr. who is also an actor (check out his website at www.TallDarkAndFunny.com). The entire Theus family is vegetarian; pioneered by Londale who has been vegetarian since 1982. Martha and Kamaal have written a cookbook full of the family’s favorite recipes.
