Law Enforcement and Martial Arts
In 1996, while on active duty with the Santa Monica Police Department, I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Krav Maga, an Israeli Self Defense system, by the U.S. Chief Instructor and Deputy District Attorney, Darren Levine. Krav Maga is a very effective system for law enforcement, military, and civilians. I was so impressed, especially with it's law enforcement applications, that I became a certified instructor and earned my Black Belt.
Upon leaving Santa Monica PD, I was offered a position as the Director of the Krav Maga Force Training Division , where, for the next five years, I had the opportunity to travel throughout the United States and abroad teaching law enforcement and military personnel this cutting edge, life saving system.
I use a dynamic and comprehensive approach to law enforcement training and skills development, with emphasis on using my training, knowledge, skill and expertise gathered from my personal experiences as a police officer, police academy instructor and expert in self defense, arrest and control tactics and firearms training, to train actors and talent in “realistic” police tactics.
I have worked on pre-production fight choreography for “Terminator 3” and “Batman Begins.” I excel in my role as a technical advisor / consultant for film and television projects that need actors to be trained in police tactics, self defense / hand to hand combat, firearms use and safety.
