Bio
I am a native of South Central Los Angeles and  attended Locke High School where I ran track and played basketball. It was during my senior year of high school when I caught the acting bug. Because I was an All City basketball player, I was offered a role in a film to replace the main character who had broken his wrist. I was excited and realized I had discovered something that I loved just as much as basketball, but having already accepted a scholarship to play for Santa Clara University, I had a dilemma; part of me wanted to act, but I knew in my heart that I could not turn down a free education and the chance to pursue my goal of playing professional basketball. As fate would have it, the main character recovered just in time for the shoot and the director informed me that I would not be needed. Inwardly, I felt a huge sense of relief that I did not have to choose between basketball and acting. I enrolled in Santa Clara University that fall, and had a very successful academic and athletic career.

Four years later, the weekend of the NBA draft, I tore my ACL in a pickup game. As I laid in my hospital bed recovering from surgery, I learned that I had been drafted by the San Diego (now Los Angeles) Clippers. An ACL injury in those days was career-ending. The Clippers kept my draft rights for a year in order to give me a chance to recover, but even after a year of grueling rehabilitation and training, I was not the same player they had drafted. I attended camp but did not make the roster. Walking out of the gym, I knew my dream of playing professional basketball was over, but I was not disheartened. In fact, I was excited about what my future would hold! I had my college degree and a burning desire to see what adventures life had in store for me.

It was then that I started my law enforcement career which spanned over twenty years and included exciting assignments such as the Crime Impact Team and S.W.A.T. During my early years in law enforcement, I also met my future wife, Martha, and we married and had two children; our daughter Kamaal and our son Londale, (both grown). My wife and daughter started 21st Century Vegetarians, and wrote a cookbook full of vegetarian recipes that she has created over the years (our entire family is vegetarian - I have been one for 28 years - check out the site!).

My last position as an active law enforcement officer was with the Santa Monica Police Department. Because I had an extensive background in martial arts, I was selected to train our fellow officers in a system called Krav Maga, which is an Israeli Self Defense system. I absolutely loved teaching and eventually earned my black belt, and subsequently was offered a position as the Director of the Krav Maga Force Training Division by the United States Chief Instructor, Darren Levine. For, for the next five years, I had the opportunity to travel throughout the United States and abroad teaching law enforcement amd military personnel this cutting edge, life saving system.

It was an honor to work with Krav Maga and teach and serve fellow law enforcement officers. Although I still practice the system, I decided it was time to return to my early love - acting, which I now do full time, in addition to technical consulting for the industry.

I have appeared in short and independent feature films such as, “Dreams and Shadows”, "Airline Disaster", "Biohazard", “Transmorphers: The Fall of Man”, "2012: Supernova", “10-20” and “Keepin’ the Faith, My Baby’s Gettin’ Married.”  I have also performed in a long form improv show at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre.
