Real Cop - Real Actor
Londale and Jarret

In the last year, I've had the pleasure of meeting several casting directors, directors and producers who all express their frustration about not being able to find actors who can truthfully convey law enforcement professionals in film and television.

So it begs the question: "Is there a real cop out there that can act?" The answer is "Yes!" Who is this person you ask? It's me, Londale Theus, "The Cop that can Act." Problem solved. I have 20 years of real life law enforcement experience where I've worked uniformed street patrol, crime impact team (undercover), S.W.A.T. and served as Director of the Krav Maga Law Enforcement / Military Training Division for five years. I provided training and consulting to over 200 law enforcement and military agencies, including 4,000 of their personnel. As an actor I've played a homicide detective, USAF captain, a retired Army Special Forces operator, a con man, mayor of a small town, and in my most recent role I played a senior FBI agent who heads a unit that saves the President of the United States family from terrorists. All in a days work for us hero types.

Why is it hard to cast law enforcement roles? Two words "Command Presence." Command Presence is when a person is in total control of all their faculties, and projects that confidence into their actions. Very few people naturally possess this attribute, so recruits must be taught this while in the police academy.

All cops have this quality for the most part, but most actors have never had to cultivate this in their life, so what they create is based on research and preparation. Sometimes they hit the mark and sometimes they don't. But what happens when you cast and work with "the cop who can act", who has natural command presence, that is authoritative and intense? You see something that is real, truthful, compelling, charismatic and dynamic, someone that the audience will immediately identify with; the real deal. I can't tell you how many times my family and friends tell me when they see a law enforcement type role on film or TV, "Londale you would have been perfect for that role." I often get asked by strangers when running errands, "Are you a police officer?" or "Are you a fireman?" or "Are you in the military?"

The answer for casting law enforcement type roles for your film or TV project is elegantly simple; call Londale Theus: "The Cop that can Act."
